Product Details

Some coffees ease you in gently. Midnight Ghats does not. This dark roast is sourced from single-estate Arabica and Robusta grown at altitude in the Western Ghats, where monsoon mist, laterite soil, and cool nights combine to produce a bean with genuine character. We roast it dark enough to develop full body and bittersweet depth, but not so far that the origin disappears. What you get in the cup is bold, low-acid, with a heavy body that coats the palate and a finish that lingers. Notes of dark chocolate, toasted nut, and a whisper of smokiness that clears cleanly. It brews exceptionally well as South Indian filter coffee, strong decoction with a splash of milk, and also pulls a clean, crema-rich espresso. Roasted to order. Dispatched within 48 hours of roasting. Available whole bean or pre-ground for South Indian filter coffee, select at checkout.

Storage & Freshness

Keep your coffee in an airtight container away from light, heat and moisture. Do not refrigerate — condensation dulls the aroma. Whole bean holds its character for up to four weeks after roasting; ground coffee is best used within ten days. Grind just before you brew wherever you can.

Grind Guide

Whole bean gives you the longest freshness and full control. Our filter grind is medium-fine, 300–400 micron, matched to a South Indian brass or steel filter. For pour-over use medium, for French press and cold brew use coarse, and for espresso or moka pot use fine. Rainforest Reserve is sold whole bean only — the micro-lot deserves a fresh grind.
