Product Details

The monsoon changes everything in Wayanad. It changes the land, the air, and, uniquely, the coffee. Monsoon Roast is made from beans exposed to humid monsoon winds during processing, a technique native to the Malabar coast that swells the bean, strips its acidity, and produces a flavour profile found nowhere else in the world. Earthy, bold, with a sweetness that recalls jaggery and a gentle spice note that stays with you after the cup is empty. Roasted to a medium-dark profile that honours the monsooning process, dark enough to develop body and warmth, restrained enough to let the processing character speak. Roasted to order. Available whole bean or pre-ground for South Indian filter coffee, select at checkout.

Storage & Freshness

Keep your coffee in an airtight container away from light, heat and moisture. Do not refrigerate — condensation dulls the aroma. Whole bean holds its character for up to four weeks after roasting; ground coffee is best used within ten days. Grind just before you brew wherever you can.

Grind Guide

Whole bean gives you the longest freshness and full control. Our filter grind is medium-fine, 300–400 micron, matched to a South Indian brass or steel filter. For pour-over use medium, for French press and cold brew use coarse, and for espresso or moka pot use fine. Rainforest Reserve is sold whole bean only — the micro-lot deserves a fresh grind.
