100g · numbered batch · one shade-grown plot

This one is different. Rainforest Reserve is a micro-lot coffee from a single plot within a shade-grown estate in Wayanad, where indigenous rainforest canopy filters the light and native birds nest in the coffee trees. We roast it light, lighter than anything else we do, because the bean has too much to say to be spoken over. The result is a cup of startling clarity: stone fruit on the nose, jasmine in the first sip, a brightness that builds through the middle and finishes clean and lingering. 100 grams only. Each batch is numbered and roasted individually. Once it is gone, it is gone until the next micro-lot harvest. We will never pre-grind Rainforest Reserve. Grind it fresh the morning you brew it, at 92 to 94 degrees C.

Storage & Freshness

Keep your coffee in an airtight container away from light, heat and moisture. Do not refrigerate — condensation dulls the aroma. Whole bean holds its character for up to four weeks after roasting; ground coffee is best used within ten days. Grind just before you brew wherever you can.

Grind Guide

Whole bean gives you the longest freshness and full control. Our filter grind is medium-fine, 300–400 micron, matched to a South Indian brass or steel filter. For pour-over use medium, for French press and cold brew use coarse, and for espresso or moka pot use fine. Rainforest Reserve is sold whole bean only — the micro-lot deserves a fresh grind.
